One of those days...

Today started out and ended wonderfully! It's the stinking middle part I could have lived without.

This morning I worked morning shift.  So I got up in time to work out and even had time to grab one of my favorite breakfasts.  Then work went excellent as I was able to finish all of the payroll that needed to be done in record time.  I was even happier when lunch time came around and I was going to be able to eat lunch with the best friend Kayla.  We were going to get Mexican which just made things even better!  Then the day started to take a downward slope.

Kayla picked me up and took me to pick up my car, as it has been in the shop for quite a few days.  When I got in my car I noticed that there was a HUGE crack in my windshield, of course right in my line of vision.  I went to lunch anyway, but Mexican just isn't quite as good when you know you are going to be spending more money on repairs soon.  I talked to the guy at the shop, who is also an amazing family friend, and found out it had been cracked when he picked it up to repair it, so apparently it must have had like had a tiny crack that expanded in the heat or something.  The insurance will cover it, but only after I pay the $250.00 deductible.  Then while I am in the midst of an amazing tutoring session, the doctor's office called to talk about my test results.  Everything seemed normal overall but they want me to go in for one more test.  And just to clear things up... I am not being tested for cancer or anything, I have just been having some issues that I would rather not post for all to read.  After the doctor's office called I was all stressed out again.  Not only do I not have all of my money for England anymore since I need to pay for my car, but now I have to do another test and still not have any real answers, only nervousness about what it could be.

Luckily the day began to get better after those few incidents.  When my mom got off work we packed up the car and headed to Schaumburg.  My dad was offered to upgrade his room to a suite for only $10 so of course he jumped at that chance.  I must say that his room is especially sweet...but at least John and I have a separate room, and therefore separate beds.  My family relaxed in the suite for a while though and just watched some episodes on Netflix while eating some fabulous pizza.  After eating the pizza I felt guilty so I came back to my room and did 30 minutes of a Taebo video.  Man did it kick my butt.  Kick...get it? Oh how I crack myself up. Well I am looking forward to some time to watch Ally McBeal now and just relax.  Though I do wish I had some water after that workout, but I guess Diet Mountain Dew will have to do.  I am looking forward to tomorrow as we are going to hit up some of my favorite Schaumburg restaurants and shops.  Though I guess I should really watch how I spend my money now.

At least throughout this whole day I have know that the Lord is truly with me all of the time.  It is amazing how you can truly feel His presence when you surrender your life to Him.  <3

Oh I almost forgot! Last night I went over to where I store my furniture for the apartment.  I have been staining a coffee table..which is turning out really nice.  I will post a picture when it is completely done.  But I was also able to see my finished couch.  My Uncle John's friend reupholstered it for me and it looks fabulous.  What do you think?

I am totally in love with the couch!  Our living room colors are blue, green, and brown.  It is going to fit perfectly!

I keep thinking of random tidbits of information.  But some kids went to my room today to help me pack.  We were messing around and taking funny pictures with my computer.  They just thought it was the coolest thing ever.

And the last one....well I might have had fun with the camera too!

Well I really do need to stop writing now and head to bed...or rather to watching tv.
Until later,
Sarah <3

Talking to Myself...

I wonder if really I am just writing to myself on here.  I mean does anyone really read it?  I doubt I would read it...except of course for the sole fact that it is mine.  :)

Yesterday was a pretty basic day.  I worked in the morning and then tutored in the afternoon.  Tutoring went really well.  We were working on our 9's in multiplication and we used a really cool trick I learned from my practicum teacher.  It took a while to understand the trick and put it into action but I think it will help him out now.  Then before I could take him home he stopped and had each person give him a multiplication fact to try. He was so proud of himself...and I was pretty darn proud of him too! Then I went to church for a little bit to work on some VBS stuff.  After VBS I came home and walked the neighborhood, and then rode on the exercise bike.  I worked out a total of three times yesterday, when including the morning session I did too.  Pretty good if you ask me! Now to just make that last when I am in my apartment..the true test. Oh and I might have watched some more Ally Mcbeal last night.  What can I say?  I am in love.

I tutored this morning after working out and then went to pick up some VBS stuff to get done at work this afternoon. It has been another pretty basic day.  But I can't complain.  I like things to be ordered.  The only true "excitement" the past few days was spilling water all over my purse and ruining my planner.  For those that know me....this is a big deal.  Well I am getting very excited for this weekend because I am heading back to Chicago.  My dad has to have a disaster recovery session for work so the rest of the family is going to join in and enjoy a weekend away.  Although since I just went last weekend, maybe I should watch my money.  We shall see. :)

Well until later,
Sarah

I have been itching to get back on here and write the past couple of days, which probably makes you think I have something exciting to write...but I really don't. Sorry to disappoint.

Sunday started off right with church.  The kids were as adorable as ever.  They were so nervous about the storm when I picked them up, but after they were able to belt out some of their favorite songs from my Iphone..the storm didn't seem like such a big deal.  Then on the way home all they could concentrate on was whether or not we were going to beat their mom home.  We lost and I thought they were going to be devastated...but then Melody says, "Well, we weren't really racing anyway."  Oh how I love four years and their ability to change their mind if it means they won't come out as having lost.  My family then met up for lunch at Monicals.  I spent the rest of the afternoon lounging in my sweats watching Ally Mcbeal on Netflix.  I am totally engrossed in the tv show and must admit that I also seem to find some extra time to watch that show throughout the day.  Kayla and I then decided to go have some Mexican for dinner and to run a few VBS errands before we stayed at a house that Kayla is watching for the next couple of weeks while the owner's are away.  We watched an extremely horrible movie, worked out, and sang some Glee before calling it a night.

Monday I had to have some test done at the doctor's office.  Since the first was at 8:30 and the second was at 1:00 Kayla decided to come with so we could work on VBS some more.  It felt so good to have more of the VBS planning done, though there is still some items that need to be finished.  We met my dad for lunch at Za's and then I went straight to work after my second test.  After work I lounged around some more and caught up on some old 16 & Pregnant episodes.  I am starting to notice a theme.  It might seem like I lay around and watch tv a lot...but I promise I do a lot of work and running around throughout the day. :-)

So far today has been busy.  I woke up and worked out before it was time to tutor.  I just love tutoring.  It is not only practicing for being a teacher one day, but I just love when he finally grasps a new concept that we had been struggling with. :)  Well the rest of the day will be filled with work and some preparation for tomorrow's tutoring session.

Until later,
Sarah

A Weekend Away

This weekend was....well, amazing!

Yesterday I was able to see two of the best friends ever!  Sarah, Kaitlyn, and I all met up in Schaumburg to do some serious shopping! We started out the evening by settling into our hotel (or rather throwing our clothes around and spreading ourselves out).  Then we rushed over to the mall (no surprise there I am sure).  We went to Bath and Body Works first where a worker offered us each a $10 gift card if we would take a short survey.  So I was able to walk out of the store with three awesome items and only had to pay $2 of my own cash! Then we went to Victoria Secrets.  We were just looking around at the perfume and such when I glanced down and saw the sale rack that had the perfume I had been wanting for months.  I found this perfume at a mall in Matteson one day in their sale items.  It was one of those last minute purchases because it was so cheap--but I instantly fell in the love with the scent.  Then I decided to take it home with me that weekend and proceeded to spill it all over my bag.  I tried searching for the scent at multiple spots and had no luck.  I was so excited to find the perfume and even more excited to find out it was 75% off.  I love deals when I am shopping.  We then headed over to Maggianos.  Delicious!  They have some of the best bread and alfredo around!  We spent some time looking at makeup and then went to our room where we proceeded the task of the search for ice(but that is a story for another time).  Then we spent time talking for a few hours before we finally fell asleep.

Today we woke up and began our shopping for the apartment.  Between IKEA and Target we are mostly set.  We found rugs, container, a bookshelf, some picture frames, wall decorations, a shower caddy, and other little odds and ends that will make our apartment amazing.  I was dreading the ride home the whole trip and was planning to call someone on the way home so as to entertain myself, though everyone one I had in mind seemed to have plans--but then my other awesome roommate Steph sent me a text and I couldn't help but to call and catch her up.  Made the trip go by so fast. :)

Overall, the weekend was a success.  It is amazing the way true friends can just jump back into conversation.  While some catch-up is necessary---for the most part it seems like we were never apart.  I can't wait until we move-in.  OH, and did you know the Magic Erasers are truly magical? Haha I love my roommates!

I miss them already!

This summer seems like it is flying by.  I was looking at the calendar the other day and I literally can't believe that events I thought would take forever to get here, are within a few short days. Fourth of July was a ton of fun this summer, seeing as I got to spend so much time with family. :) I've also been able to spend some of my time reading books I have had sitting around for a while.  I also forget how much I enjoy reading until I am finally able to dive in again.  This summer has been a low key one so far, but I think I like it that way.  I enjoy having my few events of the summer, but I also really enjoy my time to just sit back and relax.

Yesterday I took Jacob, Lauren, and Melody to the movie theater.  Carmike Cinemas has $1 kid movies on Thursday, so we went and saw Monsters vs. Aliens.  The movie was cute and I just love hearing the kids' conversation on the way to the theater, not to mention them singing their favorite songs.  Poor Melody though was exhausted and cold.  Near the end of the movie she came and sat on my lap to warm up, and next thing I know her head is slowly bobbing down, and she is completely out.  She didn't wake up until the end when all of the kids starting clapping.  Then later when I asked her what her favorite part was she told me that it was when the girl saved the day....a part she totally missed. :)  I guess children movies are pretty predictable though.

Today I am leaving for Schaumburg to visit with Kate and Sarah.  I am so excited to see them.  I can't believe that we have gone so long without really talking, when we used to see each other every day.  Not only will it be great to catch up, but I can't wait to eat some Maggianos and go shopping for our apartment.

I also have some really exciting news! I finally have enough money for England!  I have been saving like crazy but have finally made it!  Now I just have to hope that nothing major happens that will cause me too much money. I am really getting excited for England.  I can't believe it is less than five months away.
