Summer Fun

I cannot believe that we are already halfway through the summer.  This summer has been unlike any other...both good and bad.  I have closed a few chapters of my life, but have also started some new ones. So let's recap:
  • Toward the beginning of the summer I spent two wonderful weeks in Florida.  The first week I was able to spend with family at the condo on the beach.  I had so much catching up with my wonderful family.  The second week my family and I went to Disney.
My beautiful cousin...my peaches!

  •  After coming back from vacation I started my new job as a baby-sitter. :-)  I baby-sit three beautiful kids.  We have gone swimming, watched movies, completed MANY puzzles, and had our first science day!  On Friday we learned all about Volcanoes! We read a couple of library books, colored and created mini-books, made a volcano snack, created some mini volcanoes and erupted our milk! Oh and of course we played the classic "don't touch the lava floor!"  The kids were so cute.  They loved learning about the volcanoes and especially enjoyed the experiments.
Don't step in the lava.
Mini volcanoes
We did not form a very steep volcano...we kind of just plopped the baking soda down. But the kids enjoyed it still.

The rest of my summer has been spent working on Do It Yourself projects that I have found on Pinterest. I will post my project pictures later.  My summer class has just recently started so my schedule has been pretty crazy.  The class is definitely fast paced so I am working hard to stay ahead.  For me I want to be like a week ahead, and I have only had time to work and get a day ahead.  So as you can imagine...it has me a little frazzled.  Well it is getting late and my episode of Bones is almost over.  I am excited to see what the rest of the summer has in store.
