My Summer

The month of July seemed to fly by!  I started a new job, completed an online class, and directed Vacation Bible School at my church.  What a fun--and completely hectic--summer it has been!

I've already talked about my job baby-sitting three little cuties.  We have been keeping busy this summer.  We've been swimming, played at McDonald's, and found our new favorite park.  Not to mention our science days and trips to $1 movies.  This summer it has just been way too hot for the kids to play outside.  I've let them go swimming because they can at least cool off in the water, but it has been too hot to be outside at a park. Lucky for us we found a park that is inside of a church.  The kids loved the park!  The set-up was perfect for us.  The girls could play on the park while I worked on homework or walked the indoor track which circled around the playground.  The kids and I had such a blast...which you can see below. :)  We visited the park twice and I assume we will be visiting at least once more before the summer is over.

In other news....I finished my online class!  I took an online speech class this summer which turned out to be extremely easy.  We were originally supposed to give 3 speeches which you just uploaded online, but it ended up being only 2 speeches.  What a blessing!  The class was hard to complete while also working on Vacation Bible School...but somehow it was all completed.

Speaking of Vacation Bible School...what a blast!  We had around 45 kids, which was around 3 times more than we expected.  I absolutely loved the children that we had at VBS.  They were well behaved and so excited to learn about Jesus.  What a wonderful week!  The kids had a surprise visitor on Tuesday night of VBS.  You should have seen how excited they were!
The Lord truly blessed our Vacation Bible School.  We were concerned about having enough children and the Lord surprised us with 45 children.  We were concerned about having enough volunteers and somehow we filled all the necessary positions each night.  The kids also loved the pool party we had on Sunday night.  Overall the Vacation Bible School was such a blast.  The Lord is good and now hopefully more children are aware of just how great He is!

Well besides working, homework, and planning VBS, I have also spent the majority of my time on Pinterest finding craft ideas.  I am in love with crafting this summer.  I wanted to make some items for apartment.  I absolutely hate white space and was hoping crafting would help to brighten up our rooms.  Below are pictures of my many crafts.  You will have to excuse the poor quality pictures, I took them with my phone.
I added the stencil to this rug I bought at Target.  I wanted to do a stencil in the middle too...but I decided the coffee table would cover up any design I put on the middle anyway.

I know everyone is doing the crayon melting on canvas right now.  I love how mine turned out!

Coasters :)

Perler Bead Bowl

This was not from Pinterest.  My grandma taught me to crochet!

A chalkboard message board and a magnetic board.  Plus I made the magnets.

A key holder made from a picture frame

These aren't that impressive...I just painted them. But they will look darling in our bathroom.
I feel like I have done even more crafts than this...but I think some are probably already packed.  I have a few more things I am planning to make still this summer.  Like I said...I just can't help myself when it comes to crafts.

Well this week I am not working so I have been catching up on some much needed sleep and preparing for school (it's only 2 and a half weeks away!)

Until later,
Sarah
